The fair, which was inaugurated last Monday at the Socrates Educa International School in the presence of the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, the education inspector Rosa Maria Codines, and the managing director of the Socrates Educa Foundation, Jaume Vilella, aims to provide students in their final years of high school with information on the different university options available, offer academic and professional guidance, and accompany students in the transition to university or other higher education.
Students were able to speak with representatives from about twenty public and private universities, both national and international, and obtain information about academic programs, scholarships, admission requirements, as well as receive guidance on the best available options. In this context, Socrates Educa School has organized an orientation week with lectures and workshops where students can discover different job opportunities, new professions, and learn about career prospects in different fields and subjects.
In his speech, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, stated that "the greatest investment for the future is education and knowledge," as well as "increasing the quality of education," the benefits of which are "to project competent, capable, and innovative professional profiles, who can transform and bet on a better world and society." In this sense, he said, "the City Council of Salou will always be on the side of all those proposals and activities that help improve and expand both the knowledge and the abilities and competencies of young students".
The general director of the Socrates Educa Foundation, Jaume Vilella, read some words from Jonathan Day, Director of the Socrates Educa International School Salou, referring to the importance for young people to be able to decide on the best option for their future, and the support and help they receive from the center, so that they can make the most accurate decisions. Likewise, Vilella, in his speech, referred to the globalized world in which we live, the importance of students being able to decide their future, and the responsibility factor, as well as the factor of social responsibility.
