The EIC in participating in the European Football (American Football) Academy project

On September 5th, the European Football Academy will open in Reus, a project promoted by the Barcelona Dragons to offer young people between the ages of 15 and 18 from all over Europe a complete programme of American football and study,in collaboration with the Escola Internacional del Camp (EIC). The initiative has the support of the Federació Catalana de Futbol Americà and the Consejo Superior de Deportes and aims to provide participants with training both at a sports and academic level, as well as giving them the opportunity to pursue university studies with sports scholarships at universities in Mexico or
the United States.

The students will study at the EIC, train at the Estadi Municipal de Reus with  American coaches and stay at Pierre et Vacances in Salou, the residence which hosts the Dragons players during the European Football League season.

Núria Gómez, Coordinator for External Activities at the EIC, explained, "The school will adapt, as we do with other modern schools, to the needs of the athletes who arrive at the European Football Academy to follow the National and International Baccalaureate programmes, including the dual qualification, which we offer so that they can continue their studies anywhere in the world”.

The CEO of the European Football Academy and General Manager of the Barcelona Dragons, Bart Iaccarino, said of the link with the EIC: "It is a
win-win situation for the players, for the franchise and for the school".
