Baccalaureate is a post-compulsory education stage that opens the door to higher education. At the Escola Internacional del Camp, students are equipped with the skills and confidence to do so with excellence.
Sòcrates Educa, our own pedagogical model puts students at the heart of learning, supported by the pillars of technology, sustainability, internationality and community service, while fostering key values and competencies for the 21st century.
Students who choose to undertake the Baccalaureate at the EIC will have the support and individual accompaniment of teachers that are constantly learning, developing their talents while helping them pursue what interests them.
With more than twenty different nationalities from four continents, students learn in an international environment and, on a daily basis, have the chance to put their intercultural and communicative skills into practice. As well as Catalan, Spanish and English, languages such as Chinese, German or French are also studied at the EIC, which contributes to its international mindset while arousing interest and community engagement.
The Escola Internacional del Camp offers two renowned high-quality Baccalaureate programmes: the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) Diploma Programme of and the Government of Catalonia´s Social Sciences and Sciences and Technology Baccalaureate programmes. For those who wish to undertake challenges and push their abilities to the limit, we also offer the option of undertaking both programmes and thereby being awarded two diplomas upon successful completion of both courses.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is aimed at students aged 16 to 19 with a view to educating students with a breadth and depth of knowledge, while helping them grow in their physical, intellectual, emotional and ethical dimensions.
Developing an international mindset is at the heart of the International Baccalaureate, the IBO learning community, and the use of a variety of teaching and learning approaches. Students completing the IB diploma must demonstrate, through the core components: CAS, TOK and Extended Essay, that, beyond academic excellence, they are committed to their environment and personal development, reflecting on the origin and creation of knowledge, while knowing how to conduct honest research. Therefore, the EIC encourages participation in debating competitions or in the MUN (Model United Nations) project, among others, which help when it comes to choosing career paths for the future, whether in Spain or abroad.
The IBDP also requires students to take subjects in various areas of knowledge, in order to foster the student´s holistic development.
The National Baccalaureate at the EIC goes beyond merely preparing for the University Entrance Exams. Our goal is to educate academically prepared students that also know how to confidently deal with a range of communicative situations in any of the school´s three vehicular languages: Catalan, Spanish and English.
For this reason, we encourage them to critically evaluate the knowledge we transmit every day and to take part in projects that advance their personal skills and talents or that help them to discover new ones. Debating competitions, research work awards, collaboration projects with research centres or participation in the MUN (Model United Nations) project are just some of the opportunities we have created over the years to help students choose future career paths in Spain and abroad.
