The Escola Internacional del Camp held a tribute to Josep Maria Bach I Voltas who died in June 2017 and was its founder and the first President of Fundació Escola Internacional del Camp, on Wednesday May 23rd. At 3pm, the Forum became the scene of a ceremony attended by relatives of Bach, friends and EIC community, during which different symbols and activities were presented in his memory.

Josep Maria Bach i Voltas, who developed his professional career in positions of high responsibility in the chemical multinational BASF, also began operating a winery and family business with his sons and he made available his energy and talent to the territory and its people, in the Fundació EIC and in other institutions of cultural and national importance.

It was a very intimate, moving and special act which charged with emotional moments through songs performed by students in tribute  the founder and first President of the FEIC. After the speeches from of the Headteacher of the EIC, Jonathan Day; the President of the FEIC, Gabriel Ferraté, and the Director General of the FEIC, Jaume Vilella,  bust was unveiled in honour of Mr Bach, sculpted by the artist Mercè Bessó. The last to speak were the President of the Diputació  and Mayor of Vila-seca, Josep Poblet, and Mayor of Salou, Pere Granados. The event closed with a photograph in memory of those present.
